This piece is a study of one of the most graceful Australian native bees. Their airy and delicate wings really caught my attention. Their colours may vary from glints of aqua blue, golden green and orange. They are solitary bees and females build their nest in deep burrows in the ground. These nests are shared by many females, more than a hundred of them.  Another peculiarity of Homalictus Bees, is that they carry pollen on soft fine feathery hair underneath the abdomen, as well as on their hind legs.
