This piece is a study of a familiar Australian native bee for the residents of Adelaide. The Golden Pea Bee (Trichocolletes Venustus) has a preference for only a few species of native peas. Another peculiarity of this species is that they  are an important pollinator of donkey orchids, which they mistakenly identify as pea species.  This is a great benefit for the orchid and also very important for the conservation of these rare native flowers.
